Wait! This, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:199140 is the more finished 2.0 version of the Quadra-Pigeon.
Quadcopter designed to carry a load. Like cameras, electronics and things. I watched MikeyB's videos of the quadcopter he designed (Crossfire) and thought. "Totally cool! I want one of those!" Never having had a quadcopter and being new to all this 3D stuff. Seems like it would make a great project.
Now my brain hurts.
It started as a printing exercise. Then I begin to redesigned things to fit the parts that I'd bought. It evolved into something completely different. The arms are unchanged from the original. And although the body has the same overall size and retains the neat rear porch for electronics. Everything else was monkeyed around all over.
I think I acheived my goal. As its built, it just hovers when the motors are in flight idle. IE as slow as I can run them. And this is with a 5000mah battery onboard. So, it should be able to haul a load of goodies into the air. If I can ever learn how to fly it.
11/22/13 - Added experimental new Arm III.
â¢This is a little taller to keep ones hands out of the props when disconnecting the battery.
â¢The feet are moved in to make getting at the motor screws easier.
â¢Rubber mounting the motor on grommets. The idea is to isolate the vibration as close to the source as possible. Same idea as spring the wheels not the seat.
â¢Cooling vents have been moved to make more room for the rubber mounts.
â¢And most everything else has been changed and tweaked as well.
May or may not work, we'll see..
